Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the People Power Party on the 1st, saying, "Denying the constitutional order and the rule of law can never be conservative," and added, "They are nothing but reactionaries who are not even capable of being reactionary conservatives."
On the same day, Lee attended a rally jointly hosted by five opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, near the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and said, "Conservatism is about protecting values and order that must be upheld."

He continued, "On the night of December 3, the ruthless individuals who betrayed the people and the nation mobilized the police and military, the state forces entrusted by the people, to threaten the citizens, starting a historically unforgivable reactionary act. However, the proud sovereign citizens of the democratic republic once again stopped the military rebellion in the streets."
