Lee Jae-myung: "Denying Constitutional Order and Rule of Law Is Not Conservatism... It's a Reactionary That Can't Even Be Called Old-Guard"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the People Power Party on the 1st, saying, "Denying the constitutional order and the rule of law can never be conservative," and added, "They are nothing but reactionaries who are not even capable of being reactionary conservatives."

On the same day, Lee attended a rally jointly hosted by five opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, near the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and said, "Conservatism is about protecting values and order that must be upheld."

Lee emphasized, "We must overcome those who destroy the constitution and the rule of law under the guise of conservatism and restore democracy," adding, "We need to recover the true values of conservatism and move toward a society where progressives and conservatives compete rationally."

He continued, "On the night of December 3, the ruthless individuals who betrayed the people and the nation mobilized the police and military, the state forces entrusted by the people, to threaten the citizens, starting a historically unforgivable reactionary act. However, the proud sovereign citizens of the democratic republic once again stopped the military rebellion in the streets."

He added, "We are sweeping away that dark darkness created by corrupt desires with the brilliant light of cheering sticks, creating a great history of the people's victory," and said, "The rebellion is not over yet. The revolution of light is not yet complete. Let us join hands to restore common sense and morality, and together build a country where we can have hope and devote our passion."
