Gimhae City Commemorates 106th Anniversary of March 1st Movement... Mayor Hong Taeyong Expresses "Gratitude and Respect to Independence Patriots"
Gimhae City in Gyeongnam held a commemorative ceremony at the Jangyu 3·1 Memorial Tower and Gimhae Independence Memorial Square to mark the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement.
The ceremony, hosted by the Jangyu Youth Chamber of Commerce, took place at 10 a.m. at the Jangyu 3·1 Memorial Tower located at the summit of Yongdusan Mountain, with about 100 attendees including families of independence activists and citizens.

View original imageThe gathered participants read the Declaration of Independence, delivered commemorative speeches, and laid flowers, then held a parade reenacting the March 1st Movement along a 1 km route from the memorial tower to the Jangyu Gimi Independence Movement marker stone.
Following this, at 11 a.m., a commemorative ceremony hosted by the Gimhae Independence Movement Memorial Association was held at Gimhae Independence Memorial Square in Yeonji Park, attended by families of independence activists, Mayor Hong Tae-yong, City Council Chairperson An Seon-hwan, other city council members, and citizens.
At this event, the Declaration of Independence was read aloud, commemorative speeches were given, the March 1st Movement song was sung, and three cheers of "Manse" were performed.
