Changnyeong Onion and Garlic Food Research Institute held its 2025 regular board meeting on the 26th at the conference room of the Agricultural Technology Center in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam.
At this board meeting, two agenda items were deliberated and approved as originally proposed: the 2024 business performance and settlement report, and the amendment of the articles of incorporation following the renaming of the Onion and Garlic Research Institute of the Gyeongsangnam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services.

View original imageAs a result of settling the 2024 performance of food and other test inspection analysis fees, 1,556 cases were completed, achieving a performance of 122 million KRW. With the purchase of a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometer enabling precise analysis of 463 components, the institute secured a contract for safety inspections of forest products from the Southern Regional Forest Service.
Going forward, the institute plans to enhance its revenue-generating projects in cooperation with the Changnyeong Food Integrated Support Center and Changnyeong Daum Processing Center, and provide safe food to the residents of Changnyeong through HACCP inspections, nutritional content analysis, and self-quality inspections (standard inspections by food type).

Chairman Seong Nak-in stated, “In 2025, we plan to invest 45 million KRW in research and development costs for the anti-aging material patent technology commercialization support project led by the Gyeongnam Anti-Aging Research Foundation.” He added, “We will carry out a project to transfer technology to companies wishing to acquire patents held by the institute, enabling companies to secure competitiveness through product development and technology rights based on patented technology.”
