Immediately after the disaster, the association organized a legal support team of 73 members, signed an agreement with the victims' families association, and provided legal counseling. A counseling office was set up at Muan Airport to assist with inheritance and compensation issues, and a distortion response team filed complaints against individuals who posted defamatory comments about the bereaved families. Among these, on January 5, a man in his 30s who posted insulting comments about the victims' families was arrested by the police.
Ha Jaeuk, president of the bar association, and Lim Taeho, head of the legal support team, stated, "Fact-finding and the enactment of a special law are the core tasks," adding, "We will reorganize the legal support team around the fact-finding and legal review teams to continue supporting the bereaved families."
