Dong-A University Emergency Response Technology Policy Research Center Signs MOU with Korea Disaster Prevention Association
Expectations for Achievements in Disaster Safety Technology Exchange,
Research, Education, and Industry-Academia Collaboration
The Emergency Response Technology Policy Research Center at Dong-A University (Director Professor Dong-gyu Lee) announced on the 27th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Disaster Prevention Association (President Ki-sung Bang).
The two organizations pursued this agreement with the aim of strengthening education, research, and training in the fields of disaster prevention and disaster management through technology exchange and academic research cooperation projects, thereby contributing to the establishment of a safe society.
Through the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in human and material exchanges to share and develop research, education, and industry-academia achievements such as domestic and international disaster cases accumulated so far, disaster safety technology information exchange, and the advancement of disaster prevention and disaster management technologies.
The main contents of the agreement include joint research to support disaster and safety management policies of national and local governments, exchange of domestic and international disaster cases and disaster prevention technology information, and development of educational content related to disaster management and accident prevention. In addition, cooperation for fostering disaster prevention professionals and academic and educational cooperation projects to strengthen community disaster prevention capabilities are also planned.
Director Dong-gyu Lee of the Emergency Response Technology Policy Research Center at Dong-A University said, “It is meaningful to sign an agreement with the Korea Disaster Prevention Association, a leading institution in disaster management with global competitiveness, performing various tasks such as specialized education in disaster prevention and safety, disaster safety technology evaluation, and management of disaster management countermeasures agents. We will actively cooperate in research, education, and industry-academia fields going forward.”
Ki-sung Bang, President of the Korea Disaster Prevention Association, said, “To advance the field of disaster management policy, we will cooperate with the Emergency Response Technology Policy Research Center at Dong-A University to establish a foundation for supporting disaster prevention and disaster management policies of the government and local governments.”

After signing the business agreement, Director Dong-gyu Lee gave a presentation on “Utilization of Disaster Management Standards for Evaluation and Certification of Disaster Management Responsible Agencies” at the 2nd Disaster Management Policy Leaders Forum hosted by the Korea Disaster Prevention Association and the National Disaster Safety Research Institute, and sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the National Civil Defense Disaster Safety Education Institute.
