Baemin Provides Up to 4 Million KRW Scholarships for Children of Restaurant Owners
Applications accepted until March 11
Open to all restaurant owners currently in operation
Baedal Minjok offers scholarships and overseas exploration opportunities to children of restaurant owners. Any restaurant owner can apply, regardless of whether they are registered with Baemin.
Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, announced on the 27th that they are accepting applications for the "Woowa Boss's Children Scholarship Support," which provides up to 4 million KRW per person to high school and college students who are children of restaurant owners, until the 11th of next month.
The Woowa Boss's Children Scholarship program has been operated annually since 2022, funded by 10 billion KRW from a 20 billion KRW fund established through donations by Woowa Brothers founders Bongjin Kim and Bomi Seol, along with additional donations from Woowa Brothers. The Community Chest of Korea receives the donations from Woowa Brothers and the Bong & Seol Initiative, and the nonprofit organization JUMP manages the program.
Through this program, approximately 5.6 billion KRW in scholarships and mentoring programs have been provided to 959 children of restaurant owners to date. Previously, only owners who had operated a restaurant for more than one year were eligible to apply, but this year, applicants only need to be currently operating a restaurant at the time of application. The program targets high school and college students who are children of restaurant owners, and children of owners not registered with Baemin are also eligible to apply.
