Gyeonggi Office of Education Invests 42 Billion KRW to Secure Housing for Young Public Officials
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will invest 42 billion KRW this year to secure housing for young public officials.
The Office plans to secure 144 newly built housing units this year, including 40 units in Ansan, 5 units in Icheon, 15 units in Uijeongbu, 40 units in Yeoncheon, and 44 units in Pocheon. Additionally, through leasing, a total of 314 units will be prepared: 9 units in Pyeongtaek, 30 units in Yeoju, 20 units in Hwaseong and Osan, 30 units in Yangpyeong, 39 units in Icheon, 34 units in Anseong, 9 units in Gimpo, 38 units in Dongducheon and Yangju, 36 units in Paju, 39 units in Yeoncheon, and 30 units in Gapyeong.
The Office expects that providing quality housing support by region will not only create a stable living environment and alleviate housing insecurity but also help boost the morale of young public officials.
Earlier, Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, promised, "We will promptly prepare measures so that young public officials can work without worrying about housing."

An official from the Office stated, "In April 2024, we established a foundation to secure long-term leased housing in urban areas through a business agreement with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH). We plan to review project implementation plans targeting 25 education support offices within the province to resolve the issue of waiting lists for housing occupancy and to enhance welfare."
