POSCO, No Recognition of Experience... Controversy Over Hiring 'Junggo Sinip' (Mid-Career Newcomers)
POSCO is facing controversy after posting a job announcement recruiting experienced new employees but stating that prior experience will not be recognized upon hiring.
On the 25th, POSCO announced that it is recruiting production technology new employees based on experience until the 5th of next month.
Applicants must have qualifications such as less than 5 years of manufacturing production work experience.
However, even if hired, their experience from other companies will not be recognized.
Some critics argue that this is a recruitment of so-called 'used new employees' who have experience but are not recognized for it and are paid low wages.
In response, POSCO explained that this is a newly established recruitment process separate from hiring new employees and experienced employees.

The company stated that while new employees have an internship period, experienced new employees based on experience have the advantage of no internship period. Additionally, for production positions, the starting salary including performance bonuses and allowances is about 74 million KRW, and free dormitory accommodation is provided for 5 years.
