Busan Seobu Office of Education Conducts Safety Inspection of School Commute Routes Ahead of New Semester
Intensive Safety Inspections for School Commute Routes at 55 Elementary Schools
Busan Western Office of Education (Superintendent Lee Jaehan) will conduct safety inspections of school commuting routes in preparation for the 2025 academic year.
This safety inspection aims to intensively check 55 elementary schools in the western region before the new semester and take necessary measures to create an environment where students can commute safely.
The main inspection items include ▲ securing safety in child protection zones (installation of sidewalks and reinforced safety fences) ▲ securing traffic safety facilities (yellow crosswalks, traffic lights) ▲ inspection of construction sites near schools. Based on the inspection results, any hazards will be immediately corrected on-site, and if necessary, cooperation from relevant agencies such as the district office and police station will be sought.
The Western Education Support Office plans to expand the safety inspections of commuting routes for 55 elementary schools in the western region from a one-time event to quarterly inspections, conducting regular inspections four times a year.
Additionally, through working-level meetings with related agencies in Saha-gu, Seo-gu, Jung-gu, and Yeongdo-gu, active cooperation will be sought to continuously promote various efforts for commuting route safety, such as creating student pick-up and drop-off zones in front of schools, installing yellow crosswalks in school zones, and adding right-turn traffic signals.
