8 Innovation Institutions Collaborate to Build Foundations for SMEs
and Promote Co-Growth of Regional Industries
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam plans to strengthen industrial technology support projects through collaboration with local innovation institutions, aiming for the stability and vitality of the regional economy by 2025.
Yangsan hosts a total of eight innovation institutions actively working to build the foundation for local SMEs and promote the co-growth of regional industries: Gyeongnam Technopark (KTP), Korea Conformity Laboratories (KCL), Pusan National University Earthquake Disaster Prevention Research Center, Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI), Korea Photonics Technology Institute (KOPTI), Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), and Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR).
The city is enhancing linkage activities between these institutions and enterprises by sharing projects and promoting technology exchanges, while expanding technical guidance for companies. Through this, it plans to seek practical measures to overcome the rapidly changing global economic environment and ongoing uncertainties.
Additionally, to discover and nurture strategic industries and systematically support enterprises, Yangsan plans to launch the Yangsan Industrial Innovation Support Office this year. Composed of experts in the field of industrial technology innovation, this office is expected to maximize continuity and professionalism in industrial policy implementation, thereby strengthening corporate competitiveness.
Through these efforts, Yangsan is expected to establish a foundation that can resolve technical difficulties faced by SMEs and promote digital transformation and industrial advancement of local companies.
