KFC's Operating Profit Hits 16.4 Billion KRW Last Year, a Record High... Up 469% YoY
Record-High Sales of 292.3 Billion KRW
Shin Hosang: "Accelerating External Growth"
KFC recorded an operating profit of 16.4 billion KRW last year, an increase of approximately 469% compared to the same period the previous year. This is the largest scale ever.
During the same period, sales also increased by 18% to 292.3 billion KRW. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by about 47% to 46.2 billion KRW.
KFC explained that the average daily sales per store increased by 16% compared to the previous year, and the total number of visitors also grew by 11%. In particular, along with the expansion of new stores, existing stores recorded a sales growth rate of around 11.4%.
Last year, KFC rebuilt its store portfolio to strengthen store competitiveness and improve operational efficiency. While conducting a major overhaul of existing stores, it also introduced small box (small-sized stores) tailored to the characteristics of commercial districts to enhance operational efficiency.
They also carried out store environment renewals to improve product and service quality and enhance customer experience. To strengthen the capabilities of store employees, a systematic global-local training program was newly established, creating a virtuous cycle where increased employee satisfaction and brand loyalty lead back to improved product and service quality.
KFC plans to further strengthen its brand competitiveness this year by focusing on aggressive store expansion, advancement of digital infrastructure, and development of differentiated new products unique to KFC as core strategies.
