Overseas Koreans Can Obtain Military Service Certificates Within Two Days
The issuance of military service certificates for overseas Koreans, which previously took more than ten days, will now be shortened to about two days.
On the 21st, the Overseas Koreans Office and the Military Manpower Administration announced that through mutual system linkage, the processing time for civil petitions to issue military service certificates for overseas Koreans will be reduced to about two days.
Since 2023, the Overseas Koreans Office and the Military Manpower Administration have been discussing improvements to the issuance procedures for military service certificates for overseas Koreans. Through this, the Overseas Koreans Office's integrated electronic administration system (G4K) and the Military Manpower Administration's military administration system have been linked to enable prompt processing of civil petitions.
Lee Sang-deok, head of the Overseas Koreans Office, said, "We will continue to expand digital civil services that overseas Koreans can truly feel."
