Anduk Geun, Minister of Industry, Meets with Dutch Minister of Economy... "Strengthening Supply Chain Cooperation"
The governments of South Korea and the Netherlands have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of export and supply chains.
On the 20th, An Deok-geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, held a meeting with Dirk Beljaarts, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, who is visiting Korea, to discuss ways to enhance industrial cooperation.
The Netherlands is South Korea's second-largest trading partner among EU member states (approximately $15 billion last year) and the largest investor in South Korea (cumulative $39.9 billion last year), making it a key trade and investment partner. Currently, active cooperation is taking place between companies of both countries in advanced industries such as semiconductors and batteries.
During the meeting, both sides discussed topics including ▲ Korea-Netherlands cooperation ▲ economic security and supply chains ▲ semiconductors, sharing policy trends and cooperation status in the industrial sector of both countries.
Minister An stated, "There is high demand for cooperation in advanced technology fields between the two countries, and research and development (R&D) cooperation in information and communications, biotechnology, and other areas is actively progressing," adding, "We hope that in-depth consultations through the Korea-Netherlands Joint Innovation Committee and others will continue, leading to expanded technological cooperation."

Minister An also emphasized, "Since the establishment of the Korea-Netherlands Semiconductor Alliance in December 2023, semiconductor dialogues, advanced semiconductor academies, and other semiconductor cooperation projects have been progressing smoothly," and stressed, "In the current situation where global semiconductor supply chain uncertainties are escalating, close cooperation between the two countries is crucial."
