Goryeong-gun Implements Happiness Senior Center Project This Year
Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, has expanded the Happy Senior Center Side Dish Support Project starting from the 19th to improve the welfare of local senior citizens.

View original imageThis project has been implemented since 2022 and contributes to supporting balanced diets for local seniors and creating a lively and communicative space in senior centers.
The Happy Senior Center project is a customized welfare program reflecting the regional characteristics of Goryeong-gun, primarily operating a side dish support program to help seniors maintain a healthy diet.
The project is carried out by the Goryeong-gun branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association, and plans to provide side dishes 10 times a year to 214 senior centers within Goryeong-gun as of 2025.
County Governor Namcheol Lee said, “Through the Happy Senior Center project, I hope senior centers will become spaces for exchange and harmony among seniors, beyond just simple resting places,” and added, “We will continue to develop various programs to support leisure activities so that seniors can enjoy a happier later life.”

In addition to this side dish support project, Goryeong-gun plans to prepare various welfare programs centered on senior centers to promote the health and emotional stability of seniors. Through this, the county intends to provide continuous support to help seniors lead more active lives.
