Hwasun County added the new sites for the first time in nine years, since it selected the "Hwasun 8 Scenic Spots" in 2016 through a resident survey and deliberation by the County Administration Adjustment Committee.
The three newly selected spots are Ssangbongsa Temple, the Hwasun Flower River Trail Music Fountain, and Hwansanjeong Pavilion.
The county finalized and announced the official slogans after gathering opinions from residents of each town and township.
For "Hwasun Scenic Spot 9," Ssangbongsa Temple, the slogan "A National Treasure Temple Embracing a Millennium of History" was chosen, highlighting the historical value and mystical atmosphere of the ancient temple.
The Hwasun Flower River Trail Music Fountain, selected as "Hwasun Scenic Spot 10," adopted the phrase "A Feast of Music and Light," emphasizing its appeal as an emotional tourist destination where night views and music harmonize.
For "Hwasun Scenic Spot 11," Hwansanjeong Pavilion, the slogan "A Fantastic Landscape Where Mist and Pavilion Meet" was selected, accentuating its charm as a tranquil resting place amidst beautiful natural scenery.
Hwasun County plans to further strengthen tourism promotion by leveraging the selection of these official slogans and photos. To this end, the county will actively promote the "Hwasun 11 Scenic Spots" through its official website, tourism brochures, and various social media channels.
Additionally, new information boards and promotional materials will be produced at major tourist attractions to provide more effective information to visitors.
Jo Hyungchae, Director of Tourism and Sports at Hwasun County, stated, "The selection of official slogans and photos goes beyond simple promotion; it is intended to enhance storytelling for each attraction and leave a lasting impression on tourists," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to promote the region's appeal centered on the Hwasun 11 Scenic Spots and implement various promotional strategies to attract more visitors to Hwasun."
Meanwhile, the original Hwasun 8 Scenic Spots are: 1st - Jeokbyeok, 2nd - Unjusan Mountain, 3rd - Baekasan Sky Bridge, 4th - Dolmen Heritage Site, 5th - Manyeonsan Azalea Park, 6th - Gyubongam Hermitage, 7th - Yeondunri Supjaengi Forest, and 8th - Seryangji Reservoir.
