Jeonnam Province Selected as Local Government with Outstanding Case in Hometown Love Donation Program
Announced at Workshop Hosted by Ministry of the Interior and Safety

View original imageJeonnam Province has been selected as an exemplary local government for the 2024 Hometown Love Donation Program.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced the selection at a workshop attended by around 200 local government officials in charge of the Hometown Love Donation Program, held at the Government Complex Sejong on the 19th.
Along with Jeonnam Province, Gochang County, Gokseong County, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and Sokcho City were also selected.
Jeonnam Province received high praise for its active promotional efforts to encourage donations, contributing to the increase of resident population through unique return gifts, the participation of around 170 people in the Hometown Love 365 Donation Campaign, and achieving 550,000 members in the Jeonnam Sarangae Supporters group.
At the presentation of exemplary cases, Jeonnam Province shared details of the Hometown Love Donation Program, including "examples of unique return gifts reflecting the characteristics of the province and cities/counties," receiving a positive response.
Kang Kyungmun, Director of the Hometown Love Division of Jeonnam Province, said, "In 2025, we will continue to develop creative return gifts and do our best to discover fund projects for the happiness of residents and regional development."
The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million KRW annually to local governments other than their place of residence. Donors receive return gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount, with full tax deductions for donations up to 100,000 KRW and a 16.5% tax deduction for amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW. The donations are used for projects that improve the welfare of residents.
Online, donations can be made through Hometown Love eum, Activebooki (Nolgopam), KB Kookmin Bank (KB Star Banking), IBK Bank (I-ONE Bank), Shinhan Bank (Shinhan SOL Bank), and Hana Bank (Hana OneQ). Offline, donations can be made by visiting NH Nonghyup Bank.
