The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced the selection at a workshop attended by around 200 local government officials in charge of the Hometown Love Donation Program, held at the Government Complex Sejong on the 19th.

Along with Jeonnam Province, Gochang County, Gokseong County, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and Sokcho City were also selected.

Jeonnam Province received high praise for its active promotional efforts to encourage donations, contributing to the increase of resident population through unique return gifts, the participation of around 170 people in the Hometown Love 365 Donation Campaign, and achieving 550,000 members in the Jeonnam Sarangae Supporters group.

At the presentation of exemplary cases, Jeonnam Province shared details of the Hometown Love Donation Program, including "examples of unique return gifts reflecting the characteristics of the province and cities/counties," receiving a positive response.

Kang Kyungmun, Director of the Hometown Love Division of Jeonnam Province, said, "In 2025, we will continue to develop creative return gifts and do our best to discover fund projects for the happiness of residents and regional development."

The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million KRW annually to local governments other than their place of residence.
