Diageo Tequila 'Don Julio'... Partners with Korean Taco King for Popup
Gwangjang Market Pop-Up Until the 23rd of Next Month
Collaboration with 'Korean Taco King' Chef Jin Woobeom's Taco Brand 'La Calle'
Diageo Korea's luxury tequila brand 'Don Julio' announced on the 20th that it will operate a pop-up store called 'Pescaderia de La Calle' in collaboration with the authentic Mexican street cuisine brand 'La Calle' starting from the 22nd, offering a taste experience of the Mexican coastal market.
This pop-up, whose name means 'fish shop' in Spanish, showcases fresh seafood dishes inspired by the Mexican coastal region. Visitors can enjoy a variety of menus featuring the authentic flavors of Mexico, interpreted uniquely by La Calle, which have not been available in Korea until now.
The pop-up, which introduces a new global culinary trend, will be held at Seoul's Gwangjang Market until the 23rd of next month. Gwangjang Market has recently gained attention from younger generations and foreign tourists, establishing itself as a unique space where tradition and modernity coexist. Don Julio and La Calle plan to recreate the atmosphere and cuisine of an authentic Mexican coastal market by leveraging the distinctive characteristics of Gwangjang Market.
La Calle is an authentic Mexican street cuisine brand operated by Chef Jin Woobeom, the owner chef of 'Escondido,' which was selected in the 2025 Michelin Guide, and who appeared in the popular Netflix series 'Chef & My Fridge' under the nickname 'Korean Taco King.'
The Pescaderia pop-up is characterized by offering traditional street seafood dishes enjoyed on Mexican beaches, faithfully reproducing the local flavors without Korean-style modifications. A representative dish is 'Aguachile' (Mexican-style cold seafood salad), a Mexican seafood dish combining fresh seafood, vegetables, and a spicy sauce infused with various spices.

Along with the menu, the pop-up also features 'Don Julio Blanco' and a cocktail made with it called 'Fisherman’s Water.' Don Julio Blanco is a premium tequila that is unaged, harmonizing the fresh and pure notes of agave with fresh citrus flavors, providing a smooth finish and clean taste. Fisherman’s Water is a special cocktail exclusive to Pescaderia that highlights the umami of Don Julio Blanco, perfectly pairing with Pescaderia’s dishes.
