US Treasury Secretary Vesent: "Elon Musk's DOEG Saves $50 Billion"
Scott Bessent, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, stated that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) activities have saved an estimated $50 billion (approximately 72 trillion won) in administrative costs.
According to a Bloomberg report on the 19th (local time), Secretary Bessent emphasized the cost-saving effects of the Department of Government Efficiency led by Elon Musk during an interview with Fox News the previous day. He said, "The cost-saving efforts could translate into a few percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP)."
Regarding concerns over taxpayer information access by the Department of Government Efficiency, he said, "There are very strict safeguards in place, so there is no need to worry."
