The meeting was presided over by Deputy Governor Jeong Changmo and was attended by 14 officials from relevant county departments, the fire department, police station, Korea Electric Power Corporation, and other related agencies.
During the meeting, participants focused on discussing the current status and key measures for spring wildfires, landslide prevention strategies for the rainy season, specific action plans for disaster prevention and response, and the cooperation system among agencies.
First, a report on the current wildfire situation and conditions was presented to identify risk factors in the region. Weather conditions and wildfire-prone areas were analyzed, the criteria for issuing step-by-step crisis alerts and initial firefighting response plans were reviewed, and the operation of emergency contact networks and rapid information dissemination systems were checked.
Regarding landslides, the meeting included an assessment of risks due to climate change, pre-inspections of vulnerable areas, maintenance and reinforcement of preventive facilities, and safety education for residents to ensure comprehensive disaster prevention.
For inter-agency cooperation, participants agreed to strengthen rapid information sharing and rescue cooperation systems in the event of a disaster, and to enhance response capabilities through joint training exercises between agencies.
Deputy Governor Jeong Changmo stated, "Since wildfires and landslides are directly linked to the safety of our residents, proactive prevention and swift response are crucial. I ask for close cooperation among all agencies to operate a collaborative system that prevents disasters and responds quickly when they occur, so that we can protect precious lives and property."
