"Return Announcement" Kim Ki-hyun Criticizes Han Dong-hoon... "A Leader Who Can't Decide When to Step Down Is a Harm"
"You Must Judge Well When to Retreat and When to Advance"
Kim Ki-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, criticized former leader Han Dong-hoon, who announced his return to politics on the 19th, saying, "A commander must know well when to retreat and when to advance."
On the same day, Kim told reporters at the National Assembly in response to a question about Han's book publication, "A commander who cannot properly judge when to advance and when to retreat should keep in mind that he harms not only himself but many others." This expressed his discomfort toward Han, who announced his political comeback through the book release.
On that day, Kyobo Book Centre and Yes24 began accepting pre-orders for Han's book titled People Come First - Han Dong-hoon's Choice.
The publisher described the book as "containing Han Dong-hoon's 'choices' and 'thoughts' for the people as he crosses the sea of martial law and moves toward a new era," and noted, "This book is composed of two parts: ‘Han Dong-hoon's Choice’ and ‘Han Dong-hoon's Thoughts.’"
In Han Dong-hoon's Choice, the book covers the 14 days and 300 hours from opposing martial law, passing the resolution to lift martial law, attempting an orderly early resignation, passing the presidential impeachment motion, to resigning as party leader. The section Han Dong-hoon's Thoughts, presented in an interview format, unfolds his political views and philosophy, including reasons for engaging in politics, his mission as a public official, and the happy country he dreams of. Han is expected to officially declare his political return through events such as book concerts or lectures following the book release on the 26th. Political circles interpret this as a move practically considering a presidential run amid growing possibilities of an early presidential election.
