'University Student Group Leader Sent Threatening Package to Former Lawmaker Yoon So-ha' Acquitted in First Trial
"Evidence Not Accepted"
A university student organization leader who was prosecuted for sending a threatening package to former Justice Party lawmaker Yoon So-ha was acquitted in the first trial.
Judge Son Seung-woo of the Seoul Southern District Court Criminal Division 10 presiding alone sentenced Yoo Mo (42), an executive of the Seoul National University Progressive Union (Seoul National Progressive Union), who was indicted on charges of intimidation, to not guilty on the 13th.
Judge Son stated, "Based on the evidence presented in this case, the defendant cannot be specifically identified."
Yoo, who was serving as the operating committee chairman of the Seoul National Progressive Union, was arrested and prosecuted in July 2019 for sending a package containing a weapon and animal carcasses to the office of lawmaker Yoon So-ha, who was then the floor leader of the Justice Party.

Previously, the prosecution had requested a prison sentence of 1 year and 6 months for Yoo in December of last year.
