Gwangju Seo-gu Launches 'Gagahoho Home Visit Care' to Provide Medical Services
Composed of a Medical Team Including an Oriental Medicine Doctor, Nurse, and Physical Therapist
Seo-gu District of Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 13th that it will be the first among the five autonomous districts of Gwangju to implement the "Gagahoho Home Visit Medical Service" in preparation for entering a super-aged society and the era of medical care in 2025.

View original imageThis home visit medical service involves a medical team composed of an oriental medicine doctor, nurse, and physical therapist from the public health center's oriental medicine clinic. They will directly visit households among long-term care recipients who require in-home medical care, as well as day care centers and senior community centers, to provide medical services such as: acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion treatment, oriental medicine consultations, health education related to oriental medicine, medication services, daily living activity training, self-exercise methods, and fall prevention education.
Seo-gu plans to realize its vision of a "Living Government by Your Side" by enabling close communication between medical staff and residents and providing high-quality medical services through these home visits.
Lee Wongu, Director of Seo-gu Public Health Center, stated, "In line with the current trend where the need for medical care and caregiving is emerging as a policy priority, we will do our utmost to communicate with residents and provide high-quality medical services through a bold shift in the way we deliver care, making our local public health institution a model case."
