Gyeongbuk Province to Hire 1,405 New Public Officials This Year... 40 Fewer Than Last Year
Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 13th that it will recruit 1,405 new public officials this year.
These officials will be appointed to Gyeongbuk Province and its 22 cities and counties, with the number by rank being 59 for Grade 7, 45 for Grade 8, 1,245 for Grade 9, 34 for research positions, and 22 for guidance positions, representing a slight decrease from last year's 1,445.
By job category, there are 537 administrative positions, 218 facility positions, 80 agricultural positions, 67 social welfare positions, 53 industrial positions, 46 tax positions, and 32 health positions.
Direct recruitment, which appoints officials directly to Gyeongbuk Province, has significantly increased by 207% to 112 this year compared to 54 last year. This includes hiring 14 Grade 9 administrative positions, which had not been recruited in the past two years, and 6 technical high school graduates (or expected graduates) to encourage early social entry for high school graduates. This technical high school separate recruitment is the first in 13 years since 2012, when 3 were selected, recruiting 6 positions in industrial, agricultural, and green sectors.
Additionally, 2 Grade 9 industrial (nuclear power) positions will be recruited to carry out tasks related to the SMR national industrial complex development and nuclear power.
Meanwhile, to promptly respond to field demands for livestock quarantine and infectious diseases and to ensure efficient manpower supply, the veterinary job category will waive the written exam and recruit only through document screening and interviews, with the recruitment schedule being advanced.
Furthermore, to expand public service entry for socially disadvantaged groups, 122 positions will be recruited through separate recruitment for persons with disabilities, and 32 positions through separate recruitment for low-income groups. Separate exam rooms, extended exam times, and other convenience supports will be provided for persons with disabilities and pregnant women to ensure no inconvenience.
Also, starting this year, as the Ministry of Personnel Management shifts the integrated Korean and English subject exams to focus on job competency verification, the time for the local government Grade 8 and 9 open competitive recruitment exams will be extended from the previous 100 minutes to 110 minutes.
Application submissions for the 2nd career competitive recruitment exam (research positions, etc.) will begin on March 10, and for the 1st open competitive recruitment exam, which has the largest number of applicants including Grade 9 administrative positions, will start on March 24. Applications can be submitted through the local government internet application center.
