Bereaved Family of Haneulyang Faces Secondary Harm from Malicious Comments
The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education has requested restraint from posting indiscriminate defamation and excessive malicious comments targeting the bereaved families in relation to the death of an elementary school student in Daejeon.
On the 13th, the Daejeon Office of Education released a statement saying, "We earnestly ask that no more insulting malicious comments be directed at the bereaved families on online communities or social networking services (SNS)."
The Office of Education plans to strengthen 24-hour monitoring of online posts and videos in cooperation with the Daejeon Seobu Police Station, which formed a dedicated investigation team on the 12th, and will actively respond to prevent the spread of insulting posts targeting the bereaved families.

Seol Dong-ho, Superintendent of Education in Daejeon, said, "We feel a grave responsibility for this unexpected incident and strongly appeal to refrain from posting defamatory comments so that no additional harm comes to the bereaved families who are currently going through a difficult time."
