‘Harang,’ the representative regional arts group of Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk, successfully held a new genre creative gugak play titled ‘The Wish of Daegaya’ on the 11th at the Daegaya Cultural Nuri Ureuk Hall.

View original imageThe performance, which presented ‘The Story of Toje Bangul’ expressing the excellence of Daegaya through media art, and various traditional performances and games such as lion play, gi play, and pungut celebrating the first full moon of the lunar new year, reinterpreted in a modern way, offered the audience a unique and valuable experience.
Founded in 2019, the cultural arts group ‘Harang’ is a gugak chamber ensemble centered on gayageum, composed of young gugak majors from Goryeong. It is leading the revitalization of the local cultural ecosystem, improving the cultural quality of life for residents, and promoting the educational, economic, and cultural development of regional traditional arts.
Kim Su-young, the representative of ‘Harang,’ said, “We will continuously pursue original artistic work based on the excellent history and cultural heritage of Daegaya, and actively strive to create diverse content cultures while establishing a unique artistic identity.”
Also, the ticket price for the performance was 3,000 KRW for all seats, fully reimbursed with Goryeong Love Gift Certificates. With great interest from the residents, all seats were sold out, making it a meaningful performance that further boosted the local economy and the cultural and artistic development of Daegaya Goryeong.

Harang will conclude its long journey of two creative performances and eight township visiting performances with a visiting performance at St. Joseph Nursing Home located in Seongsan-myeon on the 17th.
