GIST Opens Future Aerospace Research Center
Conducting Core Research in Aerospace and Advanced Mobility
The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) announced on the 13th that it will establish and operate the Future Aerospace Research Center (G-STAR) to lead research in space technology based on artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, and to conduct core research in the fields of aerospace and advanced mobility.
The G-STAR Center will conduct core research based on 12 national strategic technologies, including aerospace and advanced mobility, and plans to take the lead in talent cultivation and research and development for the advancement of the domestic space industry by closely collaborating with the Goheung Space Launch Vehicle National Industrial Complex in Jeonnam.

Choi Seong-im, director of the G-STAR Center, stated, "The G-STAR Center will establish a collaborative model encompassing industry, academia, research institutes, and government as a new hub for national space industry development and future aerospace research, and will play a pivotal role in the advancement of the aerospace industry by linking with global research institutions."
