Mini to Launch Three New Electric Vehicle Models in Q1 This Year
MINI Countryman, Aceman, and Cooper Electric Vehicles
Debut in the Domestic Market
BMW Group's premium compact car brand MINI will launch three electric vehicle models in the domestic market in the first quarter of this year. The plan is to target the domestic premium compact electric vehicle market with models that combine unique design and practicality.
First, MINI Korea will introduce the Electric MINI Countryman, MINI's first pure electric family car. This model is MINI's representative family car, emphasizing spaciousness and the quietness unique to electric vehicles. The Electric MINI Countryman will be available with two powertrains.
▲ The Electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is an all-wheel-drive model equipped with two electric motors. It delivers a maximum output of 313 horsepower and a peak torque of 50.4 kg·m. The driving range on a single charge is 326 km (combined). ▲ The Electric MINI Countryman E features an electric motor mounted on the front axle with a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a peak torque of 25.5 kg·m, with a certified driving range of 349 km.
The second model is the newly introduced trim called the 'MINI Aceman.' Positioned between the MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman in the lineup, this model is a compact sport utility vehicle (SUV) offered exclusively as an electric vehicle. It is based on an electric vehicle-dedicated platform and features BMW Group's 5.5-generation high-voltage system.
The MINI Aceman offers distinctive design, spaciousness, and excellent versatility. The body adopts a lower and longer proportion compared to typical SUVs. This design aims to combine a sleeker look than SUVs with SUV-level space utilization. The MINI Aceman will be available with two powertrains, both offering a driving range of 312 km on a single charge.
The final model is the MINI Cooper electric vehicle, which most perfectly embodies MINI's identity. The MINI Cooper will be launched with a single powertrain and two trims: ‘Classic’ and ‘Favoured.’ It boasts agility, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The expected driving range on a single charge is between 290 and 320 km.
One of the biggest features of the three Electric MINI models is the central display located in the middle of the dashboard. MINI has collaborated with Samsung Display to install the automotive industry's first circular OLED display. It offers vivid and clear image quality and rapid responsiveness, providing an experience similar to using a smartphone.
