The metal material is expressed through special silver processing. Hyundai Card M, MM, X, and Z are made with vivid primary color metal plates. Zero is represented with a pure white metal plate.
The metal plate is a material that embodies luxury with the unique texture of metal and the substantial weight of the plate. Hyundai Card has mainly applied this material to premium products. Since 2009, the metal material has been upgraded continuously. In 2009, the first domestic VVIP card 'The Black' applied titanium material. In 2011, a liquid metal plate with a flowing water-like texture was introduced. In 2014, the Copal plate, which reinterprets copper?the origin of currency material?was launched. In 2018, the Duralumin plate, a durable and lightweight metal used in aircraft manufacturing, was introduced.
The Duralumin plate features contactless payment functions based on transportation cards and near-field communication (NFC), similar to plastic plates. It is characterized by ease of use both domestically and internationally.
New Hyundai Card applicants can additionally select the metal plate during the card application process. Existing members can apply for additional issuance from their card list. The issuance and reissuance fee for the metal plate is 100,000 KRW. Members holding M Points can pay the issuance fee using their M Points.
