According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 7th, very heavy snow of about 3 to 5 cm per hour is expected to accumulate from today through the weekend. The expected snowfall is 5 to 10 cm, with up to 15 cm in some areas.
Morning temperatures will remain below freezing, and strong winds will make it feel even colder.
On the morning of the 8th, the lowest temperatures are expected to be -10°C in Damyang and Gokseong, -9°C in Jangseong, Gurye, Naju, Hwasun, and Boseong, -8°C in Yeongam and Suncheon, -7°C in Gwangju, Yeonggwang, Hampyeong, Jangheung, Gangjin, and Gwangyang, -6°C in Goheung, Yeosu, and Haenam, -5°C in Mokpo and Wando, and -4°C in Shinan and Jindo.
Daytime highs are expected to reach -1°C in Yeonggwang, Jangseong, Damyang, and Boseong, 0°C in Gwangju, Hampyeong, Muan, Mokpo, Yeongam, Hwasun, and Gurye, 1°C in Suncheon, Jangheung, Gangjin, Wando, Haenam, Jindo, Yeosu, and Shinan, and 2°C in Goheung, which is higher than the previous day.
Waves in the West Sea will range from 2 to 5.5 meters, and in the South Sea from 1.5 to 3.5 meters. Fine and ultrafine dust levels are expected to remain at a 'good' level.
An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration said, "In areas where snow is falling, visibility will be reduced and the fallen snow may freeze, creating icy and slippery roads. Please maintain a safe distance and drive slowly when operating vehicles."
