Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan) announced on the 7th that it has been selected as an excellent institution for the fourth consecutive year by receiving a 'Na' grade in the 2024 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation jointly organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation is conducted annually to improve the quality of civil services provided by administrative agencies, targeting 307 public institutions including central administrative agencies, local governments, and offices of education.
For civil services carried out from September 2023 to August 2024, institutions were evaluated by type based on 20 evaluation indicators across 5 categories: civil administration strategy and system, operation of civil service systems, handling of complaints through the National Petition Portal, grievance handling, and civil service satisfaction. Grades were then assigned from 'Ga' to 'Ma'.
In particular, Haenam-gun received the highest 'Ga' grade in the satisfaction category evaluated by civil service users, earning high marks for its friendly and prompt civil service. The county was also recognized for its high-quality civil service through high scores in grievance handling and the establishment of civil administration strategies and systems.
A county official stated, "We will continue to lower the barriers to the county office and provide more accessible civil services to our residents through various civil service policies."
