HiteJinro Breaks Ground on First Overseas Production Facility in Vietnam Plant
Scheduled for Completion in 2026, Annual Capacity of Up to 5 Million Cases
CEO Kim Ingyu Expects Plant to Serve as a Bridgehead for Overseas Market Expansion
Liquor company HiteJinro has broken ground on its first overseas production plant in Thai Binh Province, Vietnam. The Vietnam plant is expected to serve as a key hub for production and distribution in the global market and act as a forward base for the "popularization of Jinro."
HiteJinro announced on the 6th that it has started construction of the overseas production plant in the Green I-Park Industrial Complex located in Thai Binh Province, Vietnam. The HiteJinro Vietnam plant will be a smart factory incorporating advanced technology on a site approximately 25,000 pyeong (82,083㎡), which is 11 times the size of a soccer field, and is scheduled to be completed by 2026. The company expects the Vietnam plant to have an annual production capacity of up to about 5 million cases.

View original imageAbout 160 stakeholders attended the groundbreaking ceremony held on the 5th, including HiteJinro officials such as CEO Kim In-gyu, Executive Director Hwang Jeong-ho of the Overseas Business Division, and Jung Seong-hoon, head of Jinro Soju Vietnam Corporation, as well as key Vietnamese figures such as Nguyen Khac Tan, Secretary of Thai Binh Province, Nguyen Maing Hung, Governor of Thai Binh Province, and local media representatives.
CEO Kim In-gyu and Secretary Nguyen Khac Tan of Thai Binh Province expressed their mutual determination and confidence in the successful establishment of the plant during their remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony.
CEO Kim In-gyu said, "It is very meaningful to break ground on the first overseas production plant in Vietnam, where the export of soju began," adding, "The Vietnam plant will be a foothold for expanding the global market centered on Southeast Asia and an important turning point for advancing into a global comprehensive liquor company."
