KICPA Holds the 16th Sustainability Certification Forum
Discussion on Analyzing and Utilizing the Financial Materiality of Sustainability Information
The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants will hold an event to discuss analyzing the financial materiality of domestic sustainability information and ways to utilize it.
On the 4th, the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced that it will hold the 16th Sustainability Certification Forum on the 11th.
The theme of this event is an empirical analysis of the financial materiality of domestic sustainability information and ways to utilize it. Ryu Hojung, team leader at Sustainvest, will give a keynote presentation introducing a materiality assessment method using empirical analysis and will examine sustainability issues that affect financial performance.
The chair of the comprehensive discussion will be Professor Jeon Gyu-an of Soongsil University. Discussants include Kwon Seongsik, center director of the Korea Standards Association; Kim Huntae, assistant general manager at POSCO Holdings; Park Jeongeun, head of the Daishin Economic Research Institute; Song Minseop, professor at Sogang University; Lee Sangho, research fellow at the Korea Capital Market Institute; Lee Woonghee, standing member of the Korean Accounting Standards Board; and Hwang Junghwan, partner at Samjong Accounting Corporation.

The materiality assessment method using the statistical model introduced at this forum will provide practical help to companies' sustainability disclosure practices."
