Trump: "I Want Rare Earths in Exchange for Ukraine Support"
U.S. President Donald Trump stated on the 3rd (local time) that he hopes Ukraine will provide rare earth elements to the United States in exchange for continued support in the war against Russia.
According to the AP news agency on the same day, President Trump told reporters at the White House, "Ukraine wants to give us rare earth elements," adding, "We are pursuing a deal with Ukraine, and we plan for Ukraine to provide rare earth elements and other resources as collateral in exchange for what we offer."
He also said he heard that the Ukrainian government is willing to finalize the deal. President Trump said, "I want rare earth security," and added, "We are investing hundreds of billions of dollars, and they have excellent rare earth elements."
He further stated, "We have made a lot of progress regarding Russia and Ukraine," and added, "We will see what happens. That ridiculous war will stop."
