Taean County to Provide Up to 600,000 KRW in Education Support per Female Farmer
Applications Accepted Until the 19th
Taean County in South Chungcheong Province is launching support for educational programs aimed at strengthening the expertise of local women farmers.
The county announced that it will implement the "2025 Women Farmers Capacity Building Education Support Project" for 15 women farmers in the area this year to enhance their capabilities and boost the competitiveness of local agriculture. Applications will be accepted until the 19th.
The core of this project is to provide up to 600,000 KRW per person in education fees. Once selected, participants can receive reimbursement for costs incurred after attending various capacity-building programs hosted by domestic private or public educational institutions and organizations.
Eligible applicants are women farmers registered as agricultural business operators who reside in Taean County as of January 1, 2025, and are engaged in farming. Priority will be given to women who are heads of agricultural businesses and women farmers aged 50 or younger.
Selected participants can choose their preferred timing, educational institution, and type of training. Both offline (in-person) and online (cyber) education are recognized. The support covers education fees, accommodation, transportation, textbook costs, and other education-related expenses, up to 600,000 KRW per person, regardless of the number of courses attended.
However, those who withdraw midway will not receive support, and education fees will not be provided for free programs, programs supported by other organizations, or if someone attends on behalf of the applicant. Women farmers who wish to apply should visit their local town or township office by the 19th.
A county official stated, "We have prepared this support project to strengthen the capabilities of women farmers who are contributing to the development of agriculture, a key local industry. We ask for active interest from eligible participants, and we will continue to make multifaceted efforts to improve the quality of life for women farmers."
