Krit Ventures Invests 2 Billion KRW in FuriosaAI
Krit Ventures announced on the 3rd that it has invested 2 billion KRW in FuriosaAI, an artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor fabless company.
FuriosaAI is a fabless semiconductor company developing AI inference computation specialized semiconductors for data center servers. It was founded in 2017 by CEO Junho Baek, a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology. Before founding the company, CEO Baek gained experience as a development engineer for graphics processing units (GPU) and central processing units (CPU) at Samsung Electronics and AMD.
In 2021, FuriosaAI unveiled its first AI semiconductor, the "Warboy." This chip demonstrated superior performance compared to NVIDIA's equivalent products. In August of last year, the company introduced the next-generation AI semiconductor, "Renegade (RNGD)." RNGD has 300% improved power efficiency compared to its previous product and can process large volumes of data in a short time, offering excellent real-time inference performance. Notably, it is evaluated to have more than twice the processing performance per watt compared to NVIDIA's high-end products.
