Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) announced on the 3rd that it signed a 'Robot and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Discovery and Support Business Agreement' with Kwangwoon University on the 31st of last month, and will jointly promote the development of the robot industry and future talent cultivation projects.

View original imageTo celebrate the 50th anniversary of its establishment, Gangnam-gu has collaborated with Kwangwoon University, which established the country's first Department of Robotics, to strategically foster the robot and AI industries, key fields of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
Last May, Kwangwoon University participated in the '2nd Gangnam Robot Plus Festival,' showcasing various robots designed by students and demonstrating future robot technologies.
According to the agreement, both institutions will jointly promote ▲ cultural, exhibition, and educational projects for students ▲ discovery and nurturing of robot-related companies ▲ establishment of industry-academia-research-government networks. The district plans to explore ways to expand the local robot industry base by utilizing Kwangwoon University's research and educational infrastructure.
