Recently, the number of visitors to camping, glamping, and caravan facilities has been increasing, and it is expected that the use of heating devices as well as electricity and gas will also rise. Therefore, it is important to check potential fire hazards in advance and encourage safe facility operations.
As part of its winter fire safety measures, Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station is conducting fire prevention consulting and safety inspections at camping sites and other recreational facilities.
The main initiatives include: ▲ safety inspections of heating, electrical, and cooking equipment ▲ placement of fire extinguishers, installation of fire (smoke) detectors, and provision of flashlights ▲ ensuring that exits are clearly marked and easily accessible in case of emergency (guidance) ▲ installation of dedicated circuit breakers, use of certified safe products for all electrical (gas) facilities and appliances, and education on electricity and gas regulations.
Moon Heejun, Chief of Dongbu Fire Station, stated, "Prevention is more important than anything else to minimize casualties in the event of a fire," and urged, "Visitors to camping and recreational facilities should use heating, electrical, and gas equipment safely and be familiar with evacuation routes in case of emergency. Please pay extra attention to safety."
