The purchase of materials will be conducted through a public notice period, with applications for the sale of materials being accepted from February 1 to 28.
The items eligible for purchase include old books, ancient documents, portraits, photographs, and weapons related to the Uibyeong (righteous army) from the Eulmyo Waebyeon in 1555 to the March 1st Movement in 1919. For this public purchase, priority will be given to materials owned by family clans and those directly related to the Namdo Uibyeong.
Individuals, cultural heritage dealers, and corporations wishing to sell materials should refer to the notice section on the Jeollanam-do website and submit their applications via email or post. For further details, inquiries can be made to the Jeollanam-do Cultural Resources Division.
The purchase process involves a document review (Materials Purchase Selection Committee) and a physical review (Materials Evaluation Committee), and the final purchase will be made after confirming the absence of theft or loss through the Jeollanam-do website. Among the materials purchased this time, those of high historical value will be actively utilized for exhibition when the museum opens.
Donations and deposits are accepted at all times. Donors and depositors will receive various benefits, such as having their names displayed at the museum opening, invitations to special exhibitions and official events, receiving museum catalogs, and exemption from admission fees.
Jeollanam-do has been collecting materials since 2019. As of 2024, a total of 3,007 items have been collected: 1,422 purchased, 383 donated, and 1,202 deposited. Major materials include Honam Jeoluiryeok, Namhan Pokdodaetobeol photo album, portraits and photographs of Hwang Hyeon (Maecheon), and Maecheon Yarok.

In 2023, a sword and ancient documents used by Uibyeong leader Wang Uiseong, who raised a righteous army in Gurye during the Jeongyu Jaeran, were designated as tangible cultural heritage of Jeollanam-do.
Kim Jiho, head of the Jeollanam-do Cultural Resources Division, stated, "Jeollanam-do is accelerating preparations for the opening of the Namdo Uibyeong History Museum," and added, "We aim to enrich the exhibition by actively collecting local materials. We hope for the interest and participation of material holders."
Jeollanam-do plans to complete the Namdo Uibyeong History Museum in Singok-ri, Gongsan-myeon, Naju, by the end of 2025, with a total project budget of 42.2 billion KRW.
