The project budget has increased by 1.5 billion KRW (16%) from last year, reaching a total of 10.8 billion KRW. The number of households eligible for support has also risen by 7,000 from last year, totaling 52,000 households.
In particular, this year, 300 additional experts in small-scale repair fields such as electricity, water supply, and boilers will be appointed to provide faster welfare services. In addition, case meetings reflecting residents' opinions will be made mandatory to enhance transparency in beneficiary selection and the support process.
Among the city and county specialized projects implemented last year, the following outstanding examples will be expanded to the entire region: "Support for Dream Study Rooms" in Yeonggwang-gun, "Friday Night Lights Operation" in Haenam-gun, "Electric Water Heater Installation Support" in Suncheon-si, and "Remote Village Outlet Replacement Project" in Gurye-gun.
Kim Yung-rok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, stated, "Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force has become a strong safety net that provides practical help to residents."
Meanwhile, since its launch in 2019, the Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force has been operating in all 297 towns, townships, and neighborhoods of 22 cities and counties. By last year, it had supported approximately 226,000 households, accounting for about 24% of all households in Jeollanam-do, establishing itself as a leading success story in the local welfare safety net.
