Subscription fees will be waived for two months for television receivers confirmed to be damaged in areas declared as special disaster zones due to last year's heavy rain and heavy snow damage.
A total of 49 locations in 32 local governments, including Pyeongtaek-si in Gyeonggi Province and Yeongdong-gun in Chungbuk Province, were subject to this exemption.
After handling the agenda, Chairperson Lee said, "It was very regrettable that the prompt support for subscription fee exemption for last year's affected residents was delayed due to the impeachment trial," adding, "We will continue to resolve the difficulties of the people through faster and more efficient administration."
Additionally, the commission had difficulty imposing administrative sanctions on operators who violated location information protection regulations due to the commission not being formed until now.
The Korea Communications Commission imposed fines on operators whose statute of limitations for fines was about to expire among those subject to the 2023 regular inspections, for violations of prior closure notification of location-based service businesses.
