Gyeongnam Miryang City announced on the 23rd that the '2025 Town, Township, and Neighborhood Visits for Dialogue with Residents,' which was conducted from the 13th to the 22nd, was successfully completed.
Mayor An Byeong-gu of Miryang visited 16 towns, townships, and neighborhoods, where he shared the direction of city administration for the second half of the 8th term, reported on the results of handling requests made during the 2024 Miryang Mayor visits, and held sincere conversations with residents including local representatives.

View original imageIn particular, this visit omitted the conventional formal procedures and was conducted in a freer atmosphere to get closer to the citizens. It became a forum for in-depth and passionate discussions, where concrete alternatives were proposed beyond simple requests.
Additionally, in response to questions received on the spot, Mayor An instructed the heads of relevant departments and offices to visit the sites directly to seek solutions, which gained much sympathy and positive response from the citizens.
A total of 195 requests were received during the town, township, and neighborhood visits, and they will be classified by field and promptly addressed. Major requests included support for disposal of waste nonwoven fabric and shading nets, installation of elevators on pedestrian overpasses, revitalization plans for traditional markets, additional construction of dormitories for foreign workers, securing parking lots around the intercity bus terminal, restoration of the birthplace of independence activists, construction of a comprehensive sports complex for township residents, maintenance of water supply and drainage channels, and maintenance of village roads, among various other areas.

Mayor An stated, “Requests that can be handled will be reflected in this supplementary budget and processed as quickly as possible,” and added, “We will continue to carefully listen to the voices of citizens directly on site and do our utmost to create a city administration where citizens are happy.”
