MFDS Provides Drug Prevention Education to 2.15 Million Adolescents
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 23rd that it will expand drug prevention education for adolescents this year, providing it to a total of 2.15 million people.
The Ministry revealed the "2025 Drug Prevention Education Plan," which centers on this initiative. This year, the Ministry will support professional prevention education instructors to conduct education for 2.15 million students nationwide at elementary, middle, and high schools in connection with the Ministry of Education's student safety education program. The number of students targeted for education has increased by about 22% compared to last year.
The budget for the prevention education project will also be expanded from 4.7 billion won last year to 5.5 billion won this year. Additionally, customized educational materials will be developed for vulnerable groups such as out-of-school youth, community child centers, alternative schools, North Korean defectors, multicultural families, and social welfare facilities.

To enhance the effectiveness of drug education, the plan is to activate experiential education and develop various additional educational contents. Furthermore, to establish and widely spread drug prevention education throughout society, collaboration with local communities, related organizations, and groups will also be expanded.
