The National Gwangju Science Museum will be open to the public for free so that families can enjoy traditional folk games during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Gwangju Science Museum will hold the "2025 Lunar New Year Special Event - Let's Play Together at the Science Museum!" from the 28th to the 30th (excluding the day of Lunar New Year).
This event will feature a variety of eight programs in three categories?performances, hands-on experiences, and events?mainly centered around the museum's permanent exhibition halls.

View original imageThe performance programs include the floating bubble show "Bubble Show" (28th) and the fantastic "Imagination Land Sand Magic Show" (30th), which combines sand art and magic. The performances are ticketed (1,000 KRW) and tickets can be purchased on-site on the day of the event. Each performance will be held twice a day.
There will also be traditional games such as a Jegichagi match with the Sato, the Love Tuho game, a large-scale Yutnori match, and a comic wrestling and Ttakji-chigi match with the Cheonhajangsa. The hands-on activities will be held four times a day in separate sessions.
Additionally, through the Gwangju Science Museum's social media, there will be a New Year's Wish Event where visitors can leave their wishes for the new year in the comments and receive gifts.
Furthermore, during the holiday period, the permanent exhibition halls (Main Hall, Children's Science Hall, and Artificial Intelligence Hall) will be open to the public free of charge.
