Garbage Disposal Not Allowed on January 28 in Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday Collection Areas,
and on January 29 in Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Collection Areas
Cleaning Situation Room and Mobile Response Team to Operate for Residents’ Convenience... Prompt Response Planned
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has prepared and is implementing a ‘Lunar New Year Holiday Garbage Disposal Plan’ to minimize inconvenience to residents during the Lunar New Year holiday period from January 25 to 30.
During the holiday period, garbage collection will be temporarily suspended for two days on January 28 and 29 due to the closure of the Nowon Resource Recovery Facility and the Sudokwon Landfill Site.
▲ In areas where collection is on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, all household waste including general volume-based waste, recyclables, and food waste cannot be disposed of on January 28. ▲ In areas where collection is on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, disposal of all household waste is not allowed on January 29.
Accordingly, garbage disposal will be possible from January 30 in Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday collection areas, and from January 31 in Monday, Wednesday, and Friday collection areas. Large waste items such as televisions and wardrobes can be disposed of in all areas starting January 31.
The district office will organize and operate a cleaning situation room and a mobile team during the Lunar New Year holiday to promptly respond to any resident inconveniences caused by the suspension of garbage collection. In addition, patrols will be strengthened at vulnerable points such as major arterial roads and multi-use facilities to prevent illegal dumping and create a clean street environment.
