Seoul Siheung and New Siheung Lions Clubs Deliver Lunar New Year Gift Packages to Geumcheon-gu
Donation of Gift Packages Worth 42.7 Million KRW for Elderly Residents in Welfare Blind Spots
Approximately 460 Million KRW Sponsored for the District Since 2014
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the Seoul Siheung Lions Club (President Kim Sang-do) and the New Siheung Lions Club (President Seo Jeong-hee) donated goods worth approximately 42.7 million KRW to neighbors in welfare blind spots within the district.
On January 20, the district held a "Seol Holiday Hope Sharing Package Delivery Ceremony" at the Geumcheon-gu Office auditorium. Attendees included Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, Lee In-sik, Chairperson of the Geumcheon-gu Council, Choi Ki-chan, Seoul City Council member, Kim Sang-do, President of the Seoul Siheung Lions Club, and Seo Jeong-hee, President of the New Siheung Lions Club.
The donated gift packages consisted of various food and daily necessities, including Onnuri gift certificates worth 80,000 KRW, rice cakes, meat, beef bone broth, herbal medicines, lotion, masks, and about 10 other items. The total sponsorship amount was calculated at 42.7 million KRW, and the gift packages were delivered to 200 elderly residents in welfare blind spots within the district.
Since 2014, the Seoul Siheung Lions Club and the New Siheung Lions Club have donated approximately 460 million KRW in cash and goods to the district, supporting about 2,100 residents.
Presidents Kim Sang-do and Seo Jeong-hee stated, "We hope the gift packages will provide practical help to neighbors in difficult situations who are in welfare blind spots," and added, "We will continue to engage in interest and sharing activities for the local community."
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "We thank the Seoul Siheung and New Siheung Lions Clubs for delivering warm hearts ahead of the Seol holiday," and added, "We will do our best to provide welfare services to resolve welfare blind spots."
