Gwangju Middle School Teacher Engages in Global Class Exchange with Japanese School
Suwan High School Conducts Integrated Classes and Cultural Experiences
at Schools in Osaka and Kyoto, Japan
Teachers from the Gwangju area recently visited schools in Osaka and Kyoto, Japan, to carry out international exchange activities with local teachers.
According to the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education on the 20th, this exchange was part of the "International Education Activation Project Based on Korean Language Education," designed to experience global education trends and discover new teaching and learning models.
Ten teachers from Suwan High School and two supervisors from the city’s Office of Education participated in the program, observing classes at Osaka Hanazono High School and Geumgang International Sojung High School, among others. They also introduced Suwan High School’s subject-based project classes, interdisciplinary classes, and self-directed career planning curriculum.

View original imageIn addition, Korean traditional cultural activities such as Hangul writing, Hanbok experience, Ddakji-chigi, and Jegichagi were held for Japanese students.
Finally, a meeting was held with the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education (Board of Education) to discuss strategies and curricula for future education.
Superintendent Lee Jeongseon said, "We will continue to strengthen students’ global competencies and improve the quality of education through various international exchange programs."
