"Don't Worry About the Return Trip"… Uijeongbu City Extends Light Rail Operation During Lunar New Year Holiday
Gyeonggi Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 20th that it will implement special late-night extended operation of the light rail to facilitate transportation for citizens using the railway during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Uijeongbu City and the project operator Uijeongbu Light Rail Co., Ltd. will deploy special late-night trains on the 29th and 30th to accommodate passengers transferring to the light rail via public transportation, extending operations by a total of 12 times (6 times per day) until 1:45 a.m. the next day based on the terminal station.
Additionally, the city and Uijeongbu Light Rail Co., Ltd. will strengthen special inspections of railway facilities such as vehicles and stations for the safety of returning passengers and others, as well as enhance quarantine measures to prevent infectious diseases. They will also prepare for any situations through special emergency duty during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Furthermore, safety personnel will increase patrols within stations to ensure passenger safety against unexpected situations.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “We will thoroughly inspect to ensure that citizens can travel safely and conveniently during the Lunar New Year holiday,” and added, “We will continue to implement policies that prioritize citizens’ transportation convenience and safety.”
