Oh Se-hoon "Now We Must Discuss Constitutional Amendment... Let's Renovate the Country's Governance System"
"Minimizing the Possibility of Confusion Caused by Leader Risks"
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon stated, "The country's governance system must be completely overhauled to minimize the possibility of confusion caused by leader risks."
Mayor Oh made this remark in a post titled "Let's Discuss Constitutional Amendment Now" on Facebook on the 19th.
Regarding the arrest warrant issued for President Yoon Seok-yeol and the violent incidents involving his supporters, Mayor Oh said, "It is a morning when the entire nation can only face a sense of emptiness and despair due to the recklessness of one leader."
He continued, "The morning sky of a country where there is absolutely no way to stop the overwhelming power of the major opposition party being wielded for the survival instinct of a single politician remains dark," adding, "Looking at the photo of the broken glass in the court, I foresee a future of the country that could collapse."
Mayor Oh then urged, "Therefore, we must stand up. We must start again," and called on "the Democratic Party of Korea to now join the discussion on constitutional amendment."
He also argued, "Truth lies in the ordinary. We must be able to trust the system, not imperfect humans," and stated, "Let us create a governance structure that makes it impossible for the government and the legislature not to pursue balanced national administration together through sound mutual checks and balances."
