Snow Falling Heavily in the 'Land of Snow' Come to Ulleung Naribunji... Gyeongbuk Tourism Organization Also Recommends Cheongsong Eoreumgol Ice Cliffs
Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Kim Nam-il) introduced Cheongsong Eoreumgol Ice Wall and Ulleung Nari Basin as the first recommended travel destinations of 2025, meeting monthly through photos of Gyeongbuk travel spots on the 19th. The selection of locations was made based on recommendations from the Gyeongbuk Travel Reporter Group (15 members), who cover and promote Gyeongbuk's tourism resources.
Cheongsong Eoreumgol is famous as a valley where ice forms even in summer and is considered one of the geological attractions of the Cheongsong UNESCO Global Geopark. While Eoreumgol is perfect as a summer retreat, it shows a different magnificent appearance in winter.
The artificial ice wall created using the weather of Eoreumgol produces a breathtaking spectacle. Standing in front of the magnificent Cheongsong Ice Wall, one can feel a chill deep to the bone. Taking a commemorative photo in front of the huge ice wall will make it an unforgettable winter trip.
Winter in Ulleungdo is filled entirely with snow. Ulleungdo, boasting the highest snowfall in Korea, experiences heavy snowfalls in winter. The snow-covered scenery of Ulleungdo, piled up softly, evokes the image of a snowy country from a novel.
Especially, Nari Basin, where snow accumulates over 1 meter in winter, can be considered the highlight of Ulleungdo’s snowy landscape. The view of the snow-covered Nari Basin and Seonginbong from the observatory naturally makes one think this place is truly a winter kingdom.
